Mystic Alliance

It is a Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Friendly guild that started in 1999 in Everquest and has continued in many other games since that time. It is currently active in EQ2. This website is the home of a new chapter in the Mystic Alliance saga: Star Wars: The Old Republic (which has not been released as of this writing.)

The reality is, MMORPGs are dominated by young, heterosexual males, many of whom lack the maturity to behave in a civil manner. LGBT players are subjected to anti-gay language and attacks within these games. “That weapon is so gay!” “What kind of f*g a$$ armor is that?” LGBT players experience this from members of random pickup groups, as well as their own guild mates. In 1999, a group of Everquest players, who had been lamenting this anti-gay behavior and trying to find comfort and support in venting their frustrations on a message board, decided that the best way to deal with this issue was to create our own safe space: our very own guild.

Currently, as SW:TOR is unreleased, there is no formal process for joining the guild. Please register on our forum and introduce yourself to the group and join the discussions so we can all get to know each other and develop and shape the guild.

Mystic Alliance has long been an inclusive guild. One of our earliest members was a straight woman who had been raised by her gay uncle and his life partner. At times, forty percent of the guild has been heterosexual. We only require that members be respectful of each other and that the guild remains an open and accepting environment, free from harrassment.
