I have officially disbanded the Mystic Alliance on SWTOR web site. I had to destroy it so I could join Rough Trade. It is sad we won’t have the Mystic Alliance guild tag over our heads, but at the same time, Rough Trade is a descendant of MA. Now, the padawan is the master. Anyway, RT will have a large guild on the Republic side, and our sister guild, Taint, will be on the Imperial side.

On a side note, Star Wars Galaxies is shutting down. Not sure if any remnant of MA was still running there or not, but it all comes to an end. SWG was such a disappointment. It is not surprising that it is ending. The original release corrected a lot of the problems that EQ had, but they didn’t duplicate the things that worked in EQ.

As for Rough Trade, it will be up and running very shortly after Early Access starts, probably by the second day. So, I hope to see you there.

Hello to those few people who may be following devleopments in the Mystic Alliance Guild. After much thought, I have decided to join forces with the Rough Trade guild instead of forming a chapter of MA in SWTOR. An old friend and cofounder of the original MA in EQ is leading the efforts over there. I will post links to their web sites once I get them.

Meanwhile, due to spam, I have shut down the forum on this web site. I am looking for a new forum program to use that has decent spam protections and I will start the forum over once I get one selected and installed.

Today, I have registered Mystic Alliance as an official SWTOR guild. I expect activity to pick up from here on out. Check out our page on the official site: Mystic Alliance. Based on our voting, we are aligned with the Old Republic.

The Mystic Alliance is a guild with a rich and glorius history. Born in 1999. Birthed by a small band of LGBT gamers and their allies, the guild officially came into existence in August 4th of that year, with the formation of an Everquest guild.

A few chapters were formed, but only one survived, the Rodcet Nife chapter. This guild grew over many years. While it never became a full raiding guild, it’s members where known for many accomplishments, including being some of the first to make high level crafted items when those were introduced in game.

When Dark Age of Camelot was released, a small band of MA set off to forge a new path. They established the guild in that game. That branch became part of something called the Rough Trade gaming community, which is very active in WoW currently.

Mystic Alliance meanwhile, has gone on to have a long lasting run in EQ, formed a branch in Star Wars Galaxies, and later,  moved into EQ2, where it lives on today (web site).

Today, the original leader of both the EQ and the SWG guilds, David Lari (usually known in game as Kerik or Kerak) announces his intention to form the guild in Star Wars: The Old Republic, after the launch of the game (the date of which, has not been set yet.)

The Mystic Alliance web site will slowly take on a Star-Warsy look and feel as it is rebuilt for the new game. Please sign up on our forum if you are interested in being part of an LGBT/Friendly gaming guild in SW:TOR.

The Jedi Council said they didn’t need us anymore. “We’ve got the Sith problem under control,” they said. “You can go back to your farms, your bars, your civilian jobs.”

So, we disbanded and went about our normal lives. Our men went back to our boyfriends. Our women, back to their girlfriends. We all laid our blasters and sabers down. Or so the Council thought.

But we didn’t disband. We just faded into the background. Because we knew the day would come again. We knew, that in their most desparate hour, the Council would call upon us again. Our destiny would be thrust upon us. And together, the Mystic Alliance would once again help save The Old Republic.
